I can't sleep... so I may as well do something somewhat productive.
I just can't work right now... I can't think straight at the Tracks, and I keep blanking out Cam's trainer while I'm beating the shit out of the punching bag. When your wife is in pain to the point of immobile that can happen. Hospitals make me so restless; there's just a lot of stress there and worrying about what shit is what and past experiences make me almost physically ill. Dash getting shot, Shades poisoned with a fractured skull... and now, Kida and the mystery lump in her stomach. I'm worried shitless about what it could be... but I try not to show it too much in front of Kida because she has enough concerns. It's hard, though... I mean, what if it's a tumor? If it's in the right place she'd need to get a hysterectomy. We'd never be able to have kitts together... ... What if it's a kitt? Nah, the doctors wouldn't be concerned if it was. I-I just hope it's curable, some medication, maybe some mild surgery, and a few weeks to recover. Yeah, that's all it needs, Casey, don't be pulling your hair out. Just take some time off to be home to take messages and take care of the little woman.
... Of course, that doesn't stop Pop from making me collect some parts for the Tracks. I decided to do my "shopping" at the new base at the Salvage Yard. They sell scrap metal; surely they have what I need. I fell flat on my tail when I was pulling the tailpipe from one of the piles, just in time for this brown tom to see me. He was kind of a quiet guy, probably not the social type. He seemed alright if he wasn't such a smart-ass. He had a water bottle with him, had some red liquid on the outside of it... nothing I was familiar with. When Sky suddenly showed up out of nowhere, he acted like she was the devil or some shit, growling and hissing... Sky seemed very uneasy, too! Turns out HE is a real live VAMPIRE named Cage Blunt... which would explain the uneasiness: holiness meeting unholiness. To Cage a half-angel is like a walking cross or something. Sky was unusually cold; I guess something as unholy as a vampire would put her in a mood. I couldn't take much more of it, so I excused myself to make my purchase. Sky knew about Kida's troubles, and offered her healing services if she could. ... If it turns out to be a tumor I really doubt she could heal her like that. It would be nice...
Heh, a real vampire... when I think about all those monster movies Kida and I mocked...
